THAT HIGHLIGHT THO

Bella Hadid Started a TikTok-Viral Jaw Highlighting Trend

Leave it up to TikTok to find an easy way to recreate the model's snatched jaw.

After posting several photos from a friend's birthday to her Instagram on January 16, Bella Hadid surely wasn't thinking that her jaw highlight would be all over TikTok. The seventh photo in her 10-part carousel is where the model's luminous jawline glow shines through.

Nearly two weeks after Hadid shared the photos from her friend's birthday bash with her 48 million followers, a TikTok user (and presumably an Instagram follower of hers) by the name of @rachelocoolmua captivated the TikTok beauty community's attention by attempting to recreate Hadid's jawline glow in a video on January 27 (check it out right here). The technique isn't anything too crazy: she simply places the highlight along her jawline, then gently blends it in with her finger.

Soon after, several other TikTokers demonstrated the technique on themselves, including TikTok users @jaclynforbes and @sarah_wolak. Even though @rachelocoolmua's video has been lauded by many in the TikTok beauty community, she shared another way to achieve the highlighted jaw look in a video on January 28. Instead of solely relying on a highlighter, she contours her jawline first, then places a powdered highlighter on her jaw bone, which she acknowledges were suggestions from her followers.

We're not sure if the model actually applies highlighter along her jawline, or if the photo was just a matter of good lighting and well-moisturized skin, but, as demonstrated by TikTokers, adding a highlighter to your face is a viable way "to strategically add balance and dimension to your face," makeup artist Cynde Watson previously told Allure

If you've gotten this far and are still wondering which products can help you come close to Hadid's jaw-dropping glow (see what we did there?), not to worry, we've got you. Rare Beauty's Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in Mesmerize creates the most beautiful glow without being overwhelmingly bright. For an even more luminous glow, Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter is another great option.

We will probably never know exactly how Hadid got that glow on her friend's birthday, but thanks to TikTok, it is quite possible to get the glow of a supermodel by using only one makeup product.
